How many of us are not living the life we want because of fear and self-doubt? The fear of failure or rejection can be paralyzing. Somehow, I managed to take a leap of faith and recently launched my freelance writing business.
Even hitting the publish button on my website made me nervous. Did I forget something? God forbid if I have a typo! However, I knew I had to act in spite of my fear or I would never reach my goals. I also knew that I would regret not even trying.
One of my favorite quotes is from Ginni Rometty. She says “growth and comfort do not coexist.” It’s a quote that sticks with me. Whenever I fear to act and move forward, I think of this quote because it is truly profound. Where would we be in our lives if we did not purposely put ourselves in uncomfortable situations? We inevitably learn and grow from these experiences so why not embrace them.
So, move boldly toward your dreams and goals. Do something big or small every day that puts you a step closer to where you want to be. As cliché as the saying is, life is too short not to follow your passion or purpose.
